PRIOR KNOWLEDGE
Students identified community helpers through flash card and
artefacts
My community buildings: Models of community buildings were set up in class. Students visited the community buildings and inquire about their function.
AV room session Students were shown videos on community helpers as provocation.
SCHOOL TOUR
Students went for a school tour to meet their school helpers
Collage: Student made collage of different community buildings and community helper by cutting and pasting pictures from newspaper and magazine
My Parent as a community helper : Students brought the tools their parents use, at their work. They learnt about their parent’s
role as a community helper.
Field visit: Students visited the army camp and learnt role of army officer as a community helper
Students were provided with the pictures of community helpers & their tools & they had to match them.
Arts Integration :-
• Students made puppets of community helpers and dress them and the tools they use.

Students shared what they want to become when they will grow up
FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT
Community Villa: Students made a community villa in which they paste paper props of various community buildings, and the people belong to it.
Community helper booklet
Students made booklet of their favourite community helper; in which they paste the picture of their favourite community helper along with their tools, means of transport and workplace.
Skit
Students performed skit to understand the necessity of community helpers
SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT
Pick up a Snowball
Students demonstrated their understanding of the central idea through snowball strategy.They pick a snowball randomly and explain that
community helper’s roles and responsibilities
